Sturdy Savings Bank has long been regarded as a strong, financially sound institution with extraordinary ties to the community. Our Employees, Officers and Board of Directors are personally involved in the communities we serve. The Sturdy Savings Bank family is actively involved in supporting community groups with time, financial support, participation on boards and committees and has a genuine concern for the welfare of our neighbors in Cape May County.
Listed below are a few examples of our community involvement:

Sturdy Savings Bank is an annual sponsor of Love of Linda, a fund which has provided more than $1 million in financial assistance to Cape May County cancer patients since its inception. It started in memory of Linda Bickel Grassi, a Glenwood Avenue Elementary School Teacher who lost her battle with ovarian cancer in May, 1994. Sturdy Savings Bank is a sponsor of the Coalition Against Rape and Abuse's Independence Program. The program provides domestic violence victims exiting the shelter with 18 months of low cost housing. Sturdy Savings Bank is a longtime supporter of local recreation departments. Dennis Township Committeeman Brian O'Connor (left) is pictured with Chris Hayes, Sturdy Savings Bank's Dennisville Branch Manager. O'Connor presented Hayes with a plaque recognizing the Bank's ongoing commitment to supporting the township's recreation department.

Sturdy Savings Bank is an annual sponsor of Historic Cold Spring Village's Feasting on History event. The culinary extravaganza is one of the living history museum's biggest fundraisers, with proceeds benefiting the organization's Endowment Fund. Sturdy Savings Bank is a strong supporter of local schools, sponsoring a variety of academic programs and extracurricular activities. The Middle Township High School Surf Club is just one of the many recipients of the Bank's donations. Sturdy assisted the club in traveling to California to compete in the National Scholastic Surfing Association's (N.S.S.A.) National Championships. Sturdy's directors and employees are actively involved in their communities. Michael Lloyd, Manager of the Ocean City Branch, is pictured presenting a donation check to John Andrews, president of the Ocean City/Upper Township Noon Rotary Club. Lloyd also serves on the Rotary Club's Board of Directors.

Sturdy Savings Bank recently made a donation to help Bridges, a youth intervention program run through The Great Commission Baptist Church, in its quest to provide affordable housing. The Bank's support will be used to help Bridges renovate a single family home previously used for storage. The goal is to prepare the house for a needy family. Sturdy Savings Bank is a sponsor of the Avalon Yacht Club's annual "Run from the Sun" Benefit 5K race and walk. Proceeds from the event benefit the Skin Cancer Foundation.
